Four Beauty Products You Need to Try

…So much for doing this beauty segment each month, ha! One day I will go back to my consistent blogging and video schedule but for now, I hope you don’t mind me sporadically posting whenever I have the chance.

Here are four beauty items I’ve been loving lately as they have quickly become a part of my regular routine!

SHOP THE POST!

Living Proof Smooth Blowout Concentrate: One day my hair was NOT cooperating with me, and I saw this sitting on my mother-in-law’s guest bathroom and thought, hmm, I wonder what this does. It was an instant hit! The first few times I actually used it on dry hair, and mainly for the purpose of getting rid of frizziness and to calm my baby hair.

Now that I’ve played around with it for a while, my favourite way to use this product is to apply VERY LITTLE on my scalp and roots after washing my hair. You could then either blow dry your hair or let it air dry, and the result is similar where it keeps everything feeling smooth and silky. The only thing I don’t love is the smell; for some reason it reminds me of an auto shop or car tires… haha! But I find that it fades away as your hair dries. I’ll definitely be picking this up again once it finishes.

Marc Anthony Instant Miracle Mask (for damage repair): Where my postpartum mamas at?! We need all the hair nourishment we can get through this hard time! ? Marc Anthony’s hair masks showed up at my door just as I was in the midst of a panic attack because of my hair falling out constantly. I’m not sure if it helps with that, but it forced me to pay a little bit more attention to my hair and take care of it as I dealt with damage from PP and colouring + bleaching it every few months. I love love love the smell, reminds me of chewy candy, and it has a creamy texture which soaks into the hair nicely.

NARS Velvet Matte Foundation Stick: I started leaning on this foundation last year when my skin got oily due to pregnancy, and it was also a lifesaver this past summer! Anytime I need a foundation that has a light, airy coverage I grab this NARS Foundation Stick. It gives the perfect no-makeup makeup look!

I like to apply this foundation by using two shades together; the lighter shade on areas that I want to highlight, and the darker shade spread across my face and neck (similar to how you’d use a highlight + contour stick). Before blending I also apply my concealer in the usual spots (under eyes, forehead, lip area, chin). Then I go in with a damp beauty sponge and take time blending everything together.

Smashbox Cosmetics Studio Skin Flawless 24 Hour Concealer: My niece randomly picked this concealer when we filmed this video together, and now it’s a huge staple for me! It has amazing coverage, and blends in well with pretty much any foundation I use — I also like that I can use it for spot concealing and go over my face with powder if I want to keep my makeup minimal. I highly recommend this concealer if you can’t get your hands on the Tarte Shape Tape; the formula of both of these concealers, in my opinion, are very similar.
