First Impression of Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! BIG Sexy Lip Kit

While running some errands the other day, I came across this adorable lip kit from Benefit Cosmetics. Since I hadn’t spotted it on Instagram or anything yet, I decided to buy it and play around!

Benefits Cosmetics is known for brows, mascara and some iconic cheek products. However, the company hasn’t done too much with lips yet, so I was excited to see what they’d done with They’re Real! Big SEXY Lip Kit. Keep reading for my first impression of all FOUR colours, swatches, and more.

The four lipsticks inside this kit look just like Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara. I think the brand is slowly revamping its product library to give more of a metallic vibe. Earlier in the summer, they introduced a whole new range of brow products and improved a few classic items – but everything in that collection is now silver, shiny and fabulous.

The idea with this lip kit is that each one is a duo lipstick and liner, where the darker shade is used on the outer part of your lip and the lighter-lipstick side glides to fill the rest. These lipsticks are SO buttery and creamy; all day it felt as if I was just wearing a balm on my lips!

Lusty Rose

A cross between pale pink and nude; lovely everyday colour, especially in the winter.

Revved-Up Red

Definitely my kind of colour! In certain light it may look too bright, but the peachy tone (with a hint of orange) goes well with my skin tone.

Pink Thrills

This is a GREAT picnic/beach shade for a hot summer day. I’m already dreaming up a pretty look with it!

Flame Game

The name suits this shade perfectly! It’s a bright orange-red; reminds me a lot of this pencil crayon I used to have when I was younger, hehe. Once Spring hits, all the ladies are completely about this colour so I’m sure it will get some good use.

Considering what you get for the price, this lip kit is totally worth the value! The formula is fantastic if you’re looking for a buttery, moisturizing lipstick to wear on a daily basis.

The only downfall I see to this is that the darker/deeper part of each lipstick doesn’t perform well as a lipliner for me; the two shades in each tube are too similar in texture, colour and formula that they blend into each other. However, that won’t stop me from wearing these lipsticks. If I’m looking for a darker edge, I can simply just line my lips first and apply these on top.
