Snowball Cookies

Running out of time but still want to bake a fresh batch of cookies for the family this holiday season? Try this delicious snowball cookie recipe! It takes less than 40 minutes, and consists of ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. It is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face, especially the kids!

Recipe: Snowball Cookies

Time: 40 minutes (including prep and baking)
Serves: 18-22 cookies

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup salted butter (softened, but still cold)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • Optional: Fillings like candied cherries, chocolate chips or nuts
  • Powdered sugar for dusting at the end

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F and line baking sheet(s) with parchment paper
  • Using a mixer, beat the butter and sweetened condensed milk together
  • Add in the vanilla, salt, baking powder, and flour and mix well – it should be soft but easy to mould like cookie dough
  • Use a cookie or ice cream scoop, or just your hand, to create 1 inch balls with the cookie dough
  • Optional: If you want to add something in the centre like candied cherries, chocolate chips or nuts, you add them now and use your hand to roll the dough into a ball – the filling should be hidden
  • Place each cookie a couple of inches apart on the baking sheet and bake at 325°F for 12-14 minutes
  • Remove them from the baking sheet and let them rest on a cookie rack or parchment paper
  • Dust the cookies with powdered sugar while they rest
